Every year, on December 1st, a little Elf arrives at our house. And no, it's not me, it's Dash! (Little known fact if you didn't catch on there-my initials used to spell ELF-ha. Thanks Mom.) Our Elf on the Shelf is always up to cute and funny mischief around the house, and he's the first thing every morning Landon looks for. The past few years, I have chronicled the adventures of Dash on my social media (Instagram and Facebook). This year, I decided not to, and just do one big blog post to document it all. Partly because I feel I need to spare the daily pic for my friends who are not yet parents and just totally don't get it, and partly (mostly) because life has just been nuts and this was way easier! ;) I didn't snap of pic for every day, just some of Landon's favorites.
Sooooo here we go.
Sooooo here we go.
Our star didn't fit on top of the tree this year....ceilings in our rental house are shorter than in the apartment. So Dash brought a new star.
Elf grocery list.
Every year, Dash brings Landon a pair of Elf pj's.
Even elves have mastered the art of a good selfie. ;)
Bringing snow to Bismarck.
Give to Get. Fill the basket with old toys to donate.
Elf sized ball pit.
He opened our Bible to the Christmas story. Remembering the reason for the season.
Stuck in Our Adventure Fund.
Fishin' for Hurricane, the Beta fish.
Shaving cream snow-family.
Melted snowman
An interesting design choice. (Don't mind our antenna.)
Root beer reindeer.
It is cold outside, but I am nice and "toasty" in here,
Dash brought in some more snow just in time to have a white Christmas.
And then just like that he was headed back to the North Pole.
Although this little guy can be every parent's worst nightmare, he also has helped to keep the "magic" of Christmas alive at our house. I know that very soon Landon will no longer believe, so I will hold onto anything that keeps it magical for him just a bit longer. :)
