Holy guacamole--where did May go?! I feel like this whole month was on fast forward. Landon has 3 days left of school and then he's out for the summer! This whole school year just flew by!

Here is a peak into our life lately:
We met up with Cory's family for brunch on Mother's day. This Mother's day was so much better than last year because I actually got to spend it with these two. They spoiled me rotten all day long. After brunch all the girls in the family headed to the movie Mother's Day-it was cute! When I got home from the movie, Cory had made us awesome grilled steaks and twice baked potatoes. He also surprised me with tickets to the Florida Georgia Line concert and Landon made me the BEST card and painting. I am one lucky lady.
We headed out to the lake for the first time this year and the kids had a blast! We were laughing so hard at this picture of all the kids. Miss Sassy pants didn't want to stand by them in the picture, so it looks like she is directing all of them. haha
Landon had an art fair at school and here are a couple of his projects. They all had to write a report about someone historical, and not to our surprise, Landon chose the Wright Brothers. haha He typed it all up and placed it on his poster board all by himself. The school had an artist come in and do several sessions wit the kids, including Monet, Van Gogh, and clay sculpting. This is Landon's clay sculpture. The Titanic. Titanic is his current obsession right now, and could tell you more facts and stats about the Titanic and White Star Line than anyone you know. Promise. The kid knows his stuff.
We wrapped up the Spring soccer season last weekend. He loved soccer this year, and it really surprised us how much more competitive it got from last year....1st grade soccer players/parents can get pretty intense. haha
Cory and I needed a new mattress DESPERATELY. We finally bit the bullet and ordered a new one after both of us were having more back problems then your average 85 year old and not sleeping through the night for more than a few weeks. This is how it arrived---I was really skeptical that a queen sized mattress was in that box................
...........but it was! It was crazy how fast it took its form back and we are now happily sleeping peacefully again with no more elderly feeling backs. ;)
Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, Cadillac Three......OH MY!! They were so good!!! We have been to Florida Georgia Line before and had the best time, so we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Cole Swindell was amazing...I am obsessed with his album and its been playing on repeat around here ever since. We met up with my bestie and her bf before the concert--it's always a good time with those two! Best Mother's Day present ever!!
We took Bubba to an event called Touch a Truck the other weekend. It was this really cool event where they brought in ALL KINDS of machinery, trucks, cranes, race cars, city trucks, law enforcement vehicles and medical vehicles that kiddos had complete access to get in, climb around, blow the air horns, operate the cranes.......It was really neat!
Landon and his class had a field trip to our local Game and Fish where they got to go on nature trails and learn about all the different North Dakota habitats and do some fishing in one of their ponds. I volunteered to be a chaperone. It poured rain on us for the first hour, then cleared up a little. All of the kids were soaking wet and muddy, but had a great time.
They had a catch-and-release pond that the kids got to fish in and Bubba was pumped that he caught one!
We were out at the lake all day yesterday and it was beautiful! The kids played on the beach all day and took the jet skis out even though the water was still pretty chilly..................................
...................except this guy thought it would be funny to throw us off on purpose. NOT. I was freezing!!!!!
We were maybe 15 minutes into our 45 minute drive home from the lake when I turned around to find this.....someone had a good time! :)
That's our whirlwind May.....and I have a feeling June will be the same.
