10.15.17 Our wedding day, 10 years in the making. ;) This day was the most magical, romantic, perfect day we could have ever imagined. I was an emotional mess, per usual, and tried to be as present and in the moment as much as I possibly could. I wanted to soak in every moment, sound, taste, hug, tear and toast there was. Here are just a few of our very favorite professional pictures. I cannot recommend our photographer, Kylene Fitzsimmons, enough. Her work is perfection and has the ability to capture those real life moments that I want to always remember. Not to mention she is so laid back and easy to get along with. It felt like she was just another one of our friends there to enjoy the day with us. If anyone needs a photographer-she is your girl! And very open to tagging along to any destination! :)
I tried to narrow it down as much as I could, but that is an impossible task! So prepare yourself, this is long!
My "somethings". Old: brooches in my bouquet, New: earrings, Borrowed: bracelet from my mom, Blue: shoes. My wedding band is also special to me. My mom gifted me her wedding ring that my dad gave her and I had the stones reset into a band to use as my wedding band.
I DIY'd pretty gold sequin hangers for all of our dresses.
Fun fact-I did all of the florals for our wedding, minus the ceremony and reception. For my bouquet, I gathered family heirloom brooches, from each of our families, and bought some new, to make my version of a brooch bouquet. I am by no means a florist, but I was very pleased with the outcome.
The resort was so big, so Kylene and Cory shuttled me around in this ride. ;)
Cory and his junk food....the guys all got Doritos socks. And Landon got Star Wars. :)
I can't think about this moment or look at the pictures of it without tearing up. My Grandma has dementia, and no longer remembers many of her family members, including myself. Right before this, my Aunt and Uncle prepared her to see me. When she came through the door, she said, "Emma! You look absolutely beautiful!" I completely lost it. I have not heard her say my name in years. And just for a moment, it was like her mind was back with us in the present. I remember her always talking with me about the day I would get married when I was little, and listening to her explain her wedding day to my Grandpa. She will be 90 in January, but it still the life of the party! I will forever hold this moment near and dear to my heart.
First look with my Dad. :)
ALL of our parents. All 4 sets of them. We are beyond blessed.
Instead of bubbles or confetti, I made ribbon wands with a bell. "Take a wand and wave it high as the happy couple passes by". We also did a Polaroid guestbook. I think this has been one of my favorites to go back and look at the pictures and read the sweet messages.
My friend's sister-in-law made this for us. How talented is she?!
My Uncle Steve married us, and it was so much more special and personal than having a random county notary.
Both my dad and step dad gave me away. Side note: I'm so glad Kylene got these shots from a distance, because I was sobbing like a baby. You do not want to see the up-close shots. haha!
We had around 50 family and friends make the trip to celebrate with us.
A certain someone was overcome with emotion...and was inconsolable for about 30 minutes. ;)
MR. & MRS. PLOOF
:)
I also made all of our escort cards by writing each person's name and meal choice on a piece of sea glass.
My Aunt's and brother's girlfriend did all of the decorating and it was PERFECT!! Exactly what I envisioned in my head and what my Pinterest board looked like. ;)
Cory is not a cake person, and it's not my favorite either, so we went with donuts. :)
Posing with our prom picture on our wedding day. :)
This kid. DANCED. THE. WHOLE. NIGHT.
I also told him that he could choose a song for us to have a "first dance" to, and he went with the solid choice of "The Final Countdown". haha :)
Our DJ ended the dance by playing "Whoop There It Is", and everyone was out on the dance floor singing "Ploof There It Is". It was the perfect ending song!
After the reception and dance ended, we snuck down to the beach with our bridal party and sat in the dark, in the sand, listening to the waves and music, just soaking in the day. It was the BEST DAY. With the BEST PEOPLE.
